Anne Bower lives in rural Vermont where she gardens (organically--of course--with partner Jim), teaches tai chi, and sometimes writes. She belongs to the Tai Chi for Health Community and attends regular training workshops. Locally, she's a member of the Abbott Memorial Library Board (Pomfret, VT) and part of the Shining Light mentoring program at Woodstock Middle School.
WHY TAI CHI? WHY NOT?
More and more studies are showing tai chi's health benefits. For example, as reported in The New England Journal of Medicine, on Feb. 9th, 2012, researchers compared resistance training, stretching and tai chi as therapies for people with mild to moderate Parkinson's disease. They found that those doing tai chi (twice a week for six weeks) had the greatest improvement in balance and walking, and the lowest incidence of falls.

Why study Tai Chi?
Clinical studies have shown tai chi improves balance, concentration, and coordination. It reduces falls, joint pain, and stress. And tai chi classes are also FUN!!
